Same standard
Every candidate receives the same 10 policy and 10 leadership questions, the same answer structure and the same publication rules.
Original words
Answers are published exactly as submitted, attributed to the candidate. This site does not endorse, rank, score or recommend a vote.
Evidence before interpretation
Policy answers are structured as approach, cost, trade-offs, authority and timeline so residents can compare like with like. Leadership answers ask for real examples, not self-ratings.
What a mayor can do
Several questions ask what is actually within a mayor’s authority. Residents deserve to know the difference between a promise and a wish.
Open data
Every published answer is available as data.json with stable candidate and question IDs and the questionnaire version, so any later analysis can point back to the original words.

Who is listed
53 candidates are certified for Toronto Mayor by the City Clerk. This site lists 13 of them. Candidates with a campaign website that loads, at least three published policy positions and a published way to reach the campaign, who also have at least three of five readiness facts: a cost or funding source stated for a proposal, background on the candidate, two or more ways to help the campaign, a dated update since 30 September on their own website, X or Instagram (other platforms were not checked), and answers to Build Canada’s voter questionnaire. These measure how reachable and organized a campaign is, not how good its ideas are. Priorities are copied from each site as written. A candidate who later meets the criteria will be added. Checked October 7, 2026.
