Advocacy

When negotiation fails, what do you do next?

Longer version: L05 · When negotiation fails, how do you make Ward 14's voice impossible for City Hall or Queen's Park to ignore without destroying the relationships you still need?

Your answer

Maria Voutsinas

I try to understand why it failed so that I can take another try at it, with potentially different strategies.

Denise Walcott

I would identify what is blocking agreement, explore alternatives and build support among councillors and community partners. If needed, I would bring a motion to Council or organize public advocacy. I would keep residents informed and remain open to renewed talks without compromising safety, fairness or accountability.
