I object to the concept that there should be a priority of transit modes. Residents should be able to get around the city safely in a way that suits them, their preferred mode of transit and where they are going.

On a street too narrow for everyone, who comes first: cars, bikes, pedestrians or transit?
I object to the concept that there should be a priority of transit modes. Residents should be able to get around the city safely in a way that suits them, their preferred mode of transit and where they are going.
They all matter, but safety comes first, especially for pedestrians, cyclists and people with disabilities. I would protect accessible sidewalks and crossings, prioritize transit on busy routes, and maintain safe cycling connections while accommodating emergency vehicles, deliveries and necessary car access. The balance depends on the street.
