What is the one climate or flood-protection action you could deliver in a single term?

Longer version: P09 · What is the most important environmental or climate action you could realistically deliver in Ward 14 during one council term?

Your answer

Maria Voutsinas

Buildings are the greatest source of GHG emissions in the City of Toronto. I would advocate for programs to encourage developers to include green solutions in new builds and programs to encourage residents to take advantage of residential green programs including information and funding programs to reduce up front costs.

Denise Walcott

I would push for a retrofit pilot in City-owned housing to demonstrate energy savings without raising tenants’ rents. I would help landlords access upgrade grants and advocate for funding conditions preventing retrofit costs from being passed to tenants, so climate improvements protect affordability while reducing emissions.
